Joke box
I made the joke box because I wanted to explore the idea of joke gifts. The joke box is a wooden box that has hinges on the top and bottom. This means that when you put items in the box, the design allows anything in the box to fall out when the box is picked up. Making this project was meaningful to me as it allowed me to broaden my knowledge on woodworking.
Step 1: Cutting the sides
For this step I took a sheet of plywood and measured and sectioned out six even squares for every side of the box.
Step 2: Connecting the sides
For this step I took four of the six squares and connected them each with high temperature hot glue. This allowed for a strong, solid connection for the four stationary sides.
Step 3: Making the two sides move
For this step I attached four hinges (two per side) with hot glue to the two moving side panels of the box.
Step 4: Painting the box
For this step I took the box into a paint booth and spray painted the box to give it a nice and friendly color.
